The mission of CANTARE Houston is to provide a vital venue for qualified singers, performing music from the vast repertoire at the highest artistic standards. Through concerts offered to the public in a variety of locations around the Houston metropolitan area and beyond, CANTARE Houston seeks to enrich the musical and cultural life of citizens by creating community, bridging generational and socio-economic divergences, and nurturing the developing singers of tomorrow.

CANTARE Houston has embarked upon an exciting mission: to create art through music in community with others. The world needs more singers in it, and we are fortunate to be able to kindle our love of music with others in a spirit of joy, love, dignity and respect. Our aim is high: to change people through the joy of music, choral music in particular, and to be ambassadors of good will throughout Houston and beyond.

Under the direction of Kevin Riehle, CANTARE Houston commissions new choral works by the finest contemporary composers as well as bringing the excellence and passion of compositions from the past to wide-ranging audiences.

CANTARE Houston performs an annual concert season of four/five concert repertoires. In addition to home season subscription concerts, CANTARE Houston presents an expanded repertoire at local schools, retirement facilities, and other communities each year. In collaboration with other arts organizations, CANTARE Houston programs concerts with broad audience appeal, engaging diverse audiences in the mission of perpetuating the arts. Discounted tickets are offered to students and seniors to enable the choral experience to reach a broad segment of our community.
