More than 85 volunteer singers comprise the Bay Area Chorus’s two choirs: the Bay Area Mixed Chorus and the Bay Area Women’s Chorus.
The chorus has performed classical works by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Vivaldi, Schubert, Bach and many other composers of renown. The chorus also performs traditional holiday music, historic and contemporary compositions, spirituals and songs reflecting folk traditions from around the world.
Past concerts have featured Dr. John Lienhard of KUHF radio’s Engines of Our Ingenuity, noted composer/arranger Alice Parker, composer and song leader Nick Page, and Houston Gospel recording artist Barbara Johnson Tucker.
Keith Dixon has served as the conductor and musical director of the Bay Area Chorus since 1995. Dixon also heads the acclaimed choral department at Klein High School. His credentials include frequent appearances as a guest conductor and clinician throughout Texas and the Southwestern United States and performing and recording with the Robert Shaw Festival Singers.
