The United Asian American Youth (UAAY) is a non-profit, non partisan, community- based organization. UAAY provides a mean for youths to organize socially and politically within the local community.

Committed to cultural awareness, educating youths, and community service, the UAAY staff is composed of volunteers including alumni, young professionals, educators, college students, and high school students. Encompassing the finest young leaders in the Vietnamese American community, UAAY strives to accomplish its goals of educational, charitable, and cultural programs.

Servicing the Vietnamese American community of Houston, UAAY works collaboratively with local Vietnamese American youth organizations in the Texas area. To these ends, we organize a wide range of social, cultural, political, and educational activities to help Vietnamese American youths develop a sense of their heritage and identity

    Our organization goals include:

Bringing together students from different colleges and high schooled to build unity and solidarity between Vietnamese

American youths in Texas, in the United States, and in the international Vietnamese community

Representing the diverse and dynamic Vietnamese youth population UAAY encourages interaction, participation, and activism in the Vietnamese American community

UAAY promotes awareness of the Vietnamese culture, language, and history.

Encourage a growth of leadership and service amongst Vietnamese youths.

Encourage assimilation while retaining core traditional values.

For the past 4 years United Asian American Youths, UAAY, has been involved in producing the Tet Houston Festival in honor of Vietnamese culture and community. This year the Tet Committee is excited to unveil new leadership headed by UAAY, a new name and event called Texas Tet Fest (TTF). It will be the same event just bigger and larger in scope. We will be providing shuttle buses from Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio and will be drawing people from all over the State of Texas. In the future, other possible locations such as the Dallas Convention Center will be considered to host the Texas Tet Fest.

Tet, also known as Lunar New Year, is the largest Vietnamese celebration. Year after year, the Vietnamese American community has entrusted in the UAAY a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization , to organize the traditional festival in Houston, TX. The Tet Festival is the single most attended event in this community and draws over 25,000 patrons from across the nation each year. We invite you to join us in the festivities, reach out to the growing and vibrant Vietnamese American community, and become a prestigious sponsor of the event. Sponsorship of the 2008 Tet Houston Festival offers your organization a unique opportunity for exposure to a highly targeted audience. We trust you will find tangible benefits and long-term value from your organization’s participation, as many have in the past. In addition, your sponsorship will provide support for this year’s Library Construction Project. In collaboration with Room to Read, we can help fund the construction of a new library building and the necessary components of a local library in Vietnam.
