    Meridian Ensemble is a string quartet formed by Houston’s superb professional musicians:

    • Olive Chen - cello

    Although the artists come from three different continents, different cultures and different backgrounds, they got together to cultivate their passion for promoting the understanding of music and art as means to sustaining peace and cross-cultural understanding.

    The ensemble performs mostly as a string quartet. However, it can morph into various chamber music groups as it is joined by guest musicians and visual artists.

    Ensemble's performances have been widely attended and praised as some of the most powerful intimate art events in Houston. Their repertoire is chosen with care and passion so that the musicians can connect with audiences on deeply emotional level. Each concert is always accompanied by a fun and informative talk about the context and history of performed works.

    Meridian Ensemble usually performs in small, original venues – art galleries, yoga studios, church chapels.Ensemble's efforts represent cross-cultural collaboration through which the musicians want to encourage passion for music and the values it represents.
