The artistic goal of the Houston Spanish Dance Company is to bring to the stage not only the traditional dances of Spain encompassing flamenco and classical Spanish dance, but also more modern musical genres. Spain has a unique status with respect to world music for its rich heritage that incorporates musical aspects from diverse cultures—Jewish, Arabic, Greek and Gaelic, to name just a few.

Under the inspired guidance of Maestro Lozano, the dance artists in the Houston Spanish Dance Company are therefore trained in the lyrical and passionate dances that developed from these intersecting cultures.

At the same time, elements of contemporary music, dance and staging are also incorporated into the Houston Spanish Dance Company’s repertoire, bringing this music to life for a new generation.
