    The Foundation for Modern Music strives to overcome outdated public perceptions of modern classical music, and to enable the continuing evolution of classical music in the 21st century, by promoting the performance of contemporary composers' works for a broad and receptive public audience. With this goal, the Foundation fosters dynamic education programs that expose the public to live, recorded, and broadcast performances; competitions; and public dialogues designed to communicate the relevance of classical music for today's public. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1986, with a diverse national board and an international committee of advisors, the Foundation is working to ensure a secure future for vital concert music of our time.
