"If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who deal likewise with their fellow men." -Saint Francis of Assisi-

The Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary was created to provide a permanent home where captive born wolves and wolf-dogs may live out the rest of their natural lives safely and comfortably with loving care and attention. These are non-releasable animals that have suffered much and deserve a stable home.

The Wolf is officially extinct in the state of Texas. The chances of them staying alive outside a sanctuary are remote.

We do not breed, sell, or trade any animal that is in our care!

"We all live happily at the Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary. We know that this is our permanent home and we are safe and loved here." -Yukon-

At present there are seven enclosures, constructed to the highest standards of security and comfort --approximately 100 ft. by 30 ft. -- with high leaning overhangs, and several feet of underground wiring to prevent dig outs. Each enclosure has a log cabin, water misters (for these Texas summers) and large bathtubs for each wolf -with only 1 or 2 occupants per enclosure.

We would like to make these enclosures larger, and add additional ones to be able to take in more animals in need of sanctuary. We have the love and desire as well as the land to expand and grow, but not the funds.

Costs begin at over $6,000.00 to build an enclosure. Then another $1,500.00 for the log cabins, durable plastic tubs, water pipes for the misters, and the cement for the "entrance" enclosure areas where they are fed and medically examined.

And those are just the funds spent in order to make an enclosure. They do not include the yearly maintenance of each enclosure, the medical expenses of each of the wolves, the twice daily feedings, the hay and ground cover in the enclosures and other necessities for the care of these amazing creatures.

100% of all donations and sponsorships go directly into the care, maintenance and well being of the wolves.

Through the amazing spirit to aid these wonderful creatures and the generosity of many people, we have the facilities that exist now. And we can only GROW from here!

Our ENTIRE staff is comprised of Volunteers.
