    Breathtaking, awesome and inspiring.  These are but a few of the comments Houston audiences have said about an evening with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company. Since 1995, the company has presented contemporary dance that explodes in movement, color and emotion. The company mixes the most edgy styles of dance and music with the classical into a kaleidoscope of energy all audiences enjoy. Seasoned choreographers such as Robert Battle, Salim Gauwloos and Eddy Ocampo alongside new, young artists like Brock Clawson and Joe Celej enjoy working with this strong and versatile company creating works that dance aficionados of all levels love to watch.

    The Houston Metropolitan Dance Center offers classes taught by a professional teaching faculty. While the objective is to train a life long dancer, individual goals range from health maintenance, improvement of self-esteem and social skills development. Classes include a variety of dance forms and are open to students of all needs and levels. In order to supplement the artistic program, guest artists from around the nation are invited to our center so that our students are exposed to different choreographic styles.

    The Houston Met Too, a training program for young dancers, creates the setting needed to learn how a professional company works and what it takes to become a professional dancer. Additionally, it provides a continuous flow of dancers for the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company who are well trained in a diverse range of styles. Our training center continues to provide the quality faculty and dance education needed in the Southwestern United States on a year-round basis.
