The Greater East End comprises 16 square miles between Downtown and the Port of Houston. The area boasts over 2500 businesses, is home to over 85,000 residents and is the oldest, most historic area of the city.

Created in 1999 by the 76th Legislature, the Greater East End Management District represents more than 3,000 commercial property owners and was formed to provide services that enhance property values and spur new development. The District encompasses 16 square miles between Downtown
