Writers in the Schools (WITS)

 Since 1983, Writers in the Schools (WITS) has sent professional poets, fiction writers, and playwrights into classrooms in the Houston area to engage thousands of students in the joy and power of reading and writing. Our in-school, after-school, summer camp, and community education programs encourage young people to think critically and creatively, and our professional development services equip teachers with innovative writing strategies.
