My name is Sean Richards I am a Steel Drum musician currently residing in Sugar Land, Texas. Over the years I’ve played with international bands all over the world including the United States, England, Africa and the Caribbean. In addition, I’ve had the pleasure of performing on some of the popular cruise lines such as Carnival, Norwegian, Crown, Cunard and Commodore. My wife sings with me sometimes. If you are wondering how a one man band Steel drum is possible, I do my backup tracks on a sequencer and then I play the melody along with it as you would hear on this CD.

I’ve had the privilege of performing at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, the United Nation and the Apollo Theatre and recently at Tommy Bahamas in the Woodlands and also in the International Festival down town. In addition, I’ve had the opportunity to teach students and demonstrate the Steel drums at some schools. My repertoire includes some Smooth Jazz, R&B, Latin, Reggae, Calypso, and some other stuff. I could accommodate all type of audiences.

I’ve performed at banquets, private parties, weddings, restaurants, private functions, festivals, trade shows, whatever the occasion. Being a self motivated individual, I play independently or as an integral member of a group. I’ve been in Texas for almost five years and my Native Island is Trinidad and Tobago.
