Born in Istanbul, Uluhan had an avid interest in art in his formative years, making statuettes and figurines cut out with a fret saw. During his university studies in English literature he attended the painting workshop of Ali Celebi of the State Academy of Fine Arts. Not happy with the subject of his studies, he left Turkey to study architecture in W.Germany. While learning German he enrolled in the ‘Verkunst Schule’ to further his painting skills. Accepted by the Lubeck faculty of architecture, Uluhan studied architecture for four and a half years, and finally graduated as an interior designer. Returning to Istanbul he specialized in aluminum and metal structures, creating some of the landmark projects of the time (Ataturk Library, Ataturk Cultural Center, Armed Forces building in Harbiye, and TSKB Head Offices, to name a few).
In the next phase of his career Uluhan worked on the restoration of old buildings and interior design. He set up a facility to manufacture the furniture and fixtures in the restoration work for old mansions as well as the offices, restaurants (eg. North Shield chain), and hotels that he was commissioned to undertake.
Since 2000, Uluhan lives in Bodrum where he has set up a workshop fashioning ceramic and terra cotta sculptures, reliefs, as well as metal statues, fulfilling a lifelong ambition. The exclusive theme of his work is an inter play of the soul and anatomy of woman. Always striving for improvement, Uluhan has worked three months with Marco Fallani, head of sculpture at the Florence Academy, and with the renowned Elisio Valdes in Havana, Cuba.
