About the artist: Divya Unni is a famous Indian film actress & dance artist recognized for her heroine roles in nearly 50 Indian films, and internationally through innovative and beautiful classical dance performances.

As a professional dancer, Divya Unni is formally trained in a variety of Indian dance art-forms, such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, folk, and contemporary dances.

In her career from 1990, the artist has performed on over 400 international professional stages in India, North America, Europe, and Persian Gulf countries. She as earned many artistic awards for her performances, recently receiving the renowned "Mother Teresa Award" in 2003 for her contributions to the arts in India.

Proud to now be a Houston resident, she is currently the artistic director of Sreepadam School of Arts, one of the largest Indian dance institutes in Texas - recognized locally & nationally for promoting public interest in Indian cultural arts.
