Heinen Theatre

The Heinen Theatre is an elegant, intimate 300 seat theatre that serves as the performance home of our music, dance, and drama departments. Originally a synagogue built in 1924, the space was carefully renovated in 1984 to serve the college and the community. The restoration of the former Temple Beth Israel won the building recognition in the National Registry of Historic Places. Now a professionally equipped proscenium theatre, the space features excellent acoustics and sight lines, while maintaining turn of the century charm in its architectural details and stunning stained glass skylight.

Our mission includes serving the community, and we're pleased to make the resources of an excellent performance space available to groups of every variety. The theatre is a particular favorite with Houston's dance companies, but we regularly host events ranging from poetry readings to opera.
