    Home of Divergence Vocal Theater and Houston's Chic Performance Warehouse, Divergence Music & Arts is 2300 sq ft performance studio with 20' ceilings, a 5'8" grand piano, wood floors, and is treated for acoustic sound. Seating is completely flexible, accommodating approximate 75.

    Our space is centrally located near 1-10 in The Houston Heights in the newly designated Lower Washington Cultural Arts District in the Spring Street Studios Building at 1824 Spring St.

    The space is curated and is available for rental for chamber music, performing & visual arts, special events, recitals, lessons, practice, workshops, masterclasses, etc.

    EFFECTIVE JANUARY 15, 2012:

    Stark Naked Theatre, Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Company and The Classical Theatre Company announce that they will be moving into the performance space which was recently Divergence Music & Arts at Spring Street Studios on January 15, 2012.

    The space, which the three groups are planning to re-name Studio 101 at Spring Street Studios when they take up occupancy, has been under the direction of Misha Penton as Divergence Music & Arts at Spring St Studios, since early 2011. While they will no longer be in residence at the Spring Street Studios space, Misha and Divergence Vocal Theater will continue to produce new work as a performing arts group. Misha is "....thrilled that Stark Naked, Mildred's and CTC will take over the beautiful performance studio at Spring St. and infuse Houston's growing theater arts scene with their collective vision".

    The goal of Studio 101 at Spring Street Studios will be primarily to provide audience members with a one-stop shop for the highest quality theater Houston has to offer, while allowing the three member organizations to remain true to their distinct artistic visions.

    While Mildred’s Umbrella, CTC and Stark Naked will be sharing an artistic home, and all of the administrative duties space ownership entails, the three organizations will remain separate entities. “This collective will be a benefit to all of us, and to Houston in general”, says Jennifer Decker, Artistic Director of Mildred’s Umbrella, “Though the artistic choices are different in each of our companies, we are unified in our standards of quality, and our overlapping audience bases. This collective allows us to share resources and support, and have a solid home base to produce our work”.
