The Jewish Community Center of Houston is over 70 years old and has been at its current location for 42 years. More than a focal point of the Jewish community in Houston, it is a familiar landmark that welcomes all members of the community regardless of background, age, sex or religion, providing an outstanding calendar of arts and culture programs for the entire Houston community. In 1999, through a generous gift of IW Marks, the JCC's theatre center was renamed the IW Marks Theatre Center and includes the Kaplan Theatre (proscenium theater with raked, fixed seating for 320), Joe Frank Theatre of the Arts (a black-box alternative performing space) and the adjacent Katz Lecture Hall (raked seating with desk chairs for 100).

Specify breakdown of rates: The rental rate for the Kaplan Theater is $910 for a four hour performance slot which includes: (1)technician for lights and sound for that time. Live music requires an additional technician & sound equipment at approximately $60 per hour. Security is required at the cost of $80.00 for the four hour period Additional rehearsal time is $265/hr with technical support or $135/hr for the space only. Our standard procedure is to require a 1/3 deposit, to be paid at the time of the signing of the contract, with the balance due the week prior to the show.
