Pearland Recreation Center & Natatorium

In April 2009, the City of Pearland began construction on the new Recreation Center & Natatorium located at 4141 Bailey Road. The facility aims to provide additional fitness and aquatic opportunities for both the Pearland community and surrounding cities alike. The 107,000 square foot Recreation Center & Natatorium is a joint partnership with the Pearland Independent School District and the Pearland Economic Development Corporation.

RECREATION CENTER
The facility consists of a gymnasium (18,325 sq. ft.), weight room (4,134 sq. ft), activity room (4,083 sq. ft.), racquetball courts, locker rooms and an elevated story indoor track (160 yards). It also houses a multipurpose room, kitchen and a drop-in play area for children.

NATATORIUM
Inside the natatorium is a competition pool (50 meters x 25 yards), two 3-meter diving boards, two 1-meter diving boards and a warm-up pool (25 yards long by 3 lanes wide). The competition pool can be set in seven different configurations for recreational/lap swim, long and short course swim meets, water polo, competition diving and synchronized swimming. The warm-up pool is a shallow pool with a zero-depth entry. Primary uses for the warm-up pool include water exercise classes, swimming lessons and therapeutic recreation programs. The natatorium will also serve both the Pearland and Dawson High School swim and water polo teams.
