    The first home of Unity Theatre was in the former Brenham National Bank lobby at 100 South Park Street in historic downtown Brenham. The nearby Santa Fe Freight Depot was restored in May of 1996 to serve as annex space, providing a box office, costume and scene shops, and other work areas. The company’s first Main Stage show, Talley’s Folly, opened on February 9, 1996.

    In the summer of 2000, the Board of Trustees raised private funds to purchase an historic warehouse located only a few blocks from the original theatre. A capital campaign was begun in the fall of 2000 and $1.4 million was raised to renovate the 23,000 square-foot warehouse. The new Unity Theatre (located at 300 Church Street) opened on New Year’s Eve, 2001, with a grand masquerade party.

    Located in the heart of Brenham’s downtown Warehouse District. The property includes a 125-seat performance space, actor’s quarters, classroom, studio, box office, administrative offices, a social room with kitchen, scene shop, costume shop and storage areas.

        Directions From Houston:
        Take Highway 290 West, driving towards Austin. As you approach Brenham, exit right at Business 290. Travel into town on Business 290 (South Market Street), approximately 3 miles. After the railroad tracks, turn left at the first intersection (Commerce Street). Go about 3 blocks, and turn left onto Church Street (just past the Ant Street Inn).
