Houston Ballet’s sleek new Center for Dance held its grand opening on Saturday, April 9, 2011 with a ribbon cutting ceremony presided over by Houston Mayor Annise Parker at 601 Preston Street in the heart of downtown Houston’s Theater District.
The new, six-story, 115,000-square-foot facility, designed with sustainable features by globally-recognized architecture firm Gensler, came in around $46.6 million (an estimated $6.4 million under its original projected budget of $53 million), and
