Richmond Hall used to be a grocery store. Now it houses the penultimate work by the Minimalist sculptor Dan Flavin. The installation features two rows of flourescent tubes stacked but not exactly on top of each other that creates a kind of visual doppler effect. Flavin was probably (with James Turrell) America’s most important and innovative artist ever to work with light as his medium. Richmond Hall is set apart from the neighborhood’s other two museums.
